On March 16, CSSC Marine Engine Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC), successfully delivered China's first commercially available ammonia-fueled low-speed marine engine after passing rigorous integration and acceptance tests. The 6X72DF‑A‑1.0 engine, with a rated power of 14,400 kW, will be installed on a 210,000 DWT bulk carrier built by Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. for Belgium's CMB.TECH Group. This milestone marks China's entry into zero-carbon marine power, with CSSC leading in global innovation and mass production capabilities for such engines.
