Northern Lights Phase 2 CO₂ Shipping Project Advances with New Vessel Contracts in Norway

signing parties included Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha ('K' LINE), MISC Berhad, Dalian Shipbuilding Offshore Co., Ltd. (DSOC), and Northern Lights JV. The K LINE–MISC consortium will supply two of the vessels, while Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) will provide another two. DSOC and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries will handle construction, with deliveries expected between late 2028 and early 2029. Project partners also toured the Northern Pathfinder, a 7,500 m³ CO₂ carrier already in operation. This milestone highlights the ongoing shift of CO₂ shipping from pilot projects to full-scale, industrial deployment across Europe.
