Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group, China’s largest private shipbuilder, has secured up to 12 new ship orders within two days. The orders include both container ships and product tankers, all to be constructed by its subsidiary, New Yangzijiang Shipbuilding. Notably, on March 11, Italian tanker owner d’Amico International Shipping (DIS) exercised options for two 50,000 DWT MR2 product tankers at New Yangzijiang, valued at US$45.4 million each and scheduled for delivery in August and October 2029. These vessels are part of a previously signed 2+2 order from January 2026, with DIS now holding four firm and two optional MR2 tanker orders at Yangzijiang. DIS's total orderbook in China now consists of ten vessels, with eight to be built by Yangzijiang and two by Guangzhou Shipyard International.
