Ocean Network Express (ONE) has announced plans to order 22 liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuel containerships valued at approximately $4.2 billion, despite the current downturn in container freight rates. The order includes 6+6 vessels of the 13,000 TEU grade and 6+4 vessels of the 15,000 TEU grade, with the contracts expected to be distributed among multiple shipyards. Industry experts view this move as a strong indication that investment in eco-friendly ships continues to be a priority for the shipping sector.
