On March 4, China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC), a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), along with Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., signed a contract with Namsung Shipping for the construction of two 4,300 TEU and two 1,900 TEU container ships for DONGYOUNG shipping. The 4,300 TEU vessels, measuring 220 meters in length and 37.5 meters in width with a deadweight of about 55,000 tons, and the 1,900 TEU ships, at 172 meters long and 27.5 meters wide with a deadweight of about 24,000 tons, are specially designed for the regional shipping market. These ships are expected to provide excellent port adaptability, operational flexibility, and enhanced fuel efficiency, speed, and loading capacity.
