Hengli Heavy Industry (恒力集团有限公司) has announced a record-breaking orderbook of 268 vessels, locking in global shipping deliveries through 2030. The orders include 82 crude tankers—over 40 of which are 306,000 DWT VLCCs—90 dry bulk carriers, and 56 container ships, including MSC's 24,000 TEU Ultra-Large Container Ships (ULCS). Major shipping companies such as MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company, Capital Maritime & Trading Corp., Dynacom Tankers Management, Ltd., Frontline Management AS, and EPS have secured berths at Hengli, as mainstream shipyards worldwide are sold out. All vessels ordered feature state-of-the-art eco-electronic engines and are LNG/Methanol-ready, aligning with the International Maritime Organization's decarbonization goals. Hengli's move is set to reshape the global shipbuilding hierarchy, asserting its influence alongside traditional giants in China and South Korea.
