Abu Dhabi-based ADNOC Logistics & Services has placed an order with Malaysia's Nam Cheong shipbuilding group for two 60-meter Remote Operated Landing Crafts (ROLC) and two 60-meter Diving Support Vessels (DSV), with a total contract value of US$64.5 million. The vessels are scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2027 and early 2028. The ROLCs, developed by France's SeaOwl Group, will be the world's first fully unmanned and remotely operated landing crafts, controlled from shore via satellite. These innovative vessels feature AI-enabled route optimization and auto docking, offering up to 30% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to traditional ships. All four vessels will be constructed at Nam Cheong Group’s Miri Yard in Sarawak, Malaysia.
