On the evening of February 24, ST Songfa announced that its subsidiary Hengli Shipbuilding has signed contracts to build two Capesize bulk carriers for a well-known European shipowner. The deal, valued between US$140 million and US$200 million, marks Hengli Shipbuilding’s first order in the Year of the Horse and its third Capesize bulk carrier order since 2026. Earlier this month, Hengli also secured contracts for one Capesize bulk carrier with another European shipowner on February 3, and four with Greek company Maran Dry Management on February 13. With these deals, Hengli Shipbuilding’s new Capesize bulk carrier orders for 2026 have risen to seven vessels.
