Turkey and Malaysia have announced plans to establish a $443 million joint shipyard in Malacca, aiming to bolster cooperation in the maritime and defense sectors, according to TurDef News. The Enrique of Malacca Shipyard will be developed in partnership with Turkish shipbuilder Desan Shipyard. The new facility, situated along 9.4 hectares of the Strait of Malacca coastline, is projected to be operational by 2028. This initiative reflects both countries' ambitions to strengthen their presence in one of the world's busiest shipping lanes.
