BigLift Shipping has placed an order for a new heavylift vessel at Dalian Shipbuilding Offshore, with delivery expected in June 2028. The agreement includes one confirmed vessel and an option for a second. The vessel, a sister ship to Happy Star, will feature two Huisman 1,100-tonne mast cranes, allowing for tandem lifts of up to 2,200 tonnes. Additional design elements include a full-width weather deck, an adjustable tweendeck for flexible cargo handling, and Finnish/Swedish 1A ice-class notation, enhancing its ability to operate in harsh environments. Managing director Johan Boer stated that the newbuild would boost BigLift's ability to undertake complex heavylift projects globally, while ensuring redundancy and reliability.
