Dalian Shipbuilding Offshore Co., Ltd. (DSOC) has officially signed a shipbuilding contract with Biglift, a subsidiary of the Dutch shipping company Spliethoff, for the construction of 1+1 18,000 DWT multi-purpose heavy-lift vessels. This project marks DSOC's entry into the high-end multi-purpose heavy-lift ship sector. The vessel, measuring nearly 156 meters in length, will feature two heavy-duty cranes, each capable of lifting 1,100 tons. When used together, the cranes can handle up to 2,200 tons of cargo. The ship is also equipped with a robust anti-heeling system, enhancing its stability and performance under challenging conditions. Designed for worldwide and polar operations, this vessel represents a significant milestone for DSOC in the global shipping industry.
