**MSC Doubles Container Ship Order at Jinglu Shipyard** MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company has doubled its container ship order with Penglai Zhongbai Jinglu Ship Industry in China, signing the new deal on 4 Feb 2026 to increase its neo-panamax fleet to 16 LNG dual-fuelled vessels under a USD 2.24 billion agreement. The contract covers sixteen 11,500-teu newbuildings to be constructed at the privately owned Jinglu yard. MSC now has about 120 container ships on order in Chinese shipyards. The LNG dual-fuelled design is intended for neo-panamax trade routes, reflecting the company’s ongoing decarbonisation strategy. The agreement was finalised by MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company and Penglai Zhongbai Jinglu Ship Industry. Delivery dates have not been disclosed.
