A.P. Moller - Maersk has received the Barcelona Mærsk, the sixth and final vessel in its 17,480-TEU dual-fuel methanol container ship series, concluding the company's Equinox Mk-II newbuilding programme. The vessel was officially handed over at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries' shipyard in Ulsan, where it was constructed. With this addition, Maersk's fleet now includes around 19 methanol-capable vessels, meeting the company's environmental targets. The Barcelona Mærsk, equipped with a dual-fuel MAN B&W engine and large methanol tanks, will operate on major trade routes such as the Asia–Europe AE3 service.
