TT-Line has signed a contract for the construction of a new environmentally friendly RoPax ferry, furthering its fleet renewal and decarbonisation efforts. The new vessel, approximately 240 metres in length and capable of carrying around 1,000 passengers, will feature advanced LNG-hybrid propulsion and shore-power-fed battery systems for greater operational and environmental efficiency. Construction will take place at China Merchants Jinling Shipyard, maintaining TT-Line’s long-standing partnership since 2018. The newbuild follows the success of existing vessels NILS HOLGERSSON and PETER PAN, both of which have received top ratings for clean shipping. TT-Line aims to solidify its leading position in zero-emission ferry technology in the Baltic Sea.
