Østensjø Rederi has entered into a contract with GONDAN Shipbuilders for the construction of a next-generation offshore tug. The vessel, based on the Skipsteknisk ST 933 design, is set to be the largest and most powerful tug ever built by Østensjø. Delivery is scheduled for the first quarter of 2028. According to CEO Kristian Helland Vea, the newbuild will significantly strengthen the company's offshore towage fleet, offering increased capacity and reliability to meet the demands of future offshore operations.
