Østensjø Rederi has entered into a newbuild contract with GONDAN Shipbuilders for the construction of a next-generation offshore tug. The vessel, based on the Skipsteknisk ST 933 design, is set to be the largest and most powerful tug ever built by Østensjø. Scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2028, the newbuild aims to enhance the company's offshore towage fleet with increased capacity and reliability. CEO Kristian Helland Vea highlighted that the project builds on Østensjø's extensive experience in tug operations and is designed to meet future offshore demands.
