The gas carrier Oscar Niemeyer, built in 2015 at a shipyard in Recife, Brazil, has successfully completed a comprehensive 40-day repair and maintenance project. The vessel, owned by Transpetro - Petrobras Transporte S.A., underwent structural, electrical, and machinery upgrades, including modernization of its Ballast Water Management System (BWMS). The maintenance was conducted by the Vard Promar shipyard, part of the Fincantieri Group. The Oscar Niemeyer departed the Brazilian shipyard on November 14, 2025, and is now ready to resume safe and efficient operations. This project further consolidates the partnership between Vard Promar and Transpetro in the field of gas carrier repairs in Brazil.
