Dubai-based Emarat Maritime has emerged as the owner behind an order for six LR2 product tankers at China's Hengli Shipbuilding. Industry sources confirmed that the Sharaf Group–owned company is acquiring six 114,000 dwt aframax/LR2 units, with deliveries expected in 2027. This marks Emarat Maritime's return to tanker fleet renewal, after focusing on dry bulk carriers in 2023. The company, established in 1990, currently operates 19 vessels, including six LR2/aframaxes built between 2009 and 2011.
