This morning, a naming ceremony was held for the LNG carrier 'Qingcheng', the seventh vessel in a series of eight, at Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd. The vessel, built for PetroChina International with COSCO SHIPPING as shipowner, features the advanced GTT NO96 L03+ technology and is classed by Lloyd's Register. The event highlighted the symbolic significance of the name 'Qingcheng', inspired by Mount Qingcheng in Sichuan. Mrs. Wang Xinge, Chairman of China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation (CPECC), served as the vessel's Godmother, acknowledging her pivotal role in advancing China’s LNG capabilities. Representatives from Hudong Zhonghua, PetroChina International, COSCO SHIPPING, Lloyd's Register, and GTT attended the ceremony. Only one ship remains to complete the series.
