Oceanbulk Maritime, led by Petros Pappas, has signed a deal for three new kamsarmax bulk carriers at China’s Hengli Heavy Industries. The vessels, each with a capacity of 82,000 deadweight tons, are scheduled for delivery between the second and fourth quarters of 2027. Pricing details have not been disclosed. This order is separate from a similar recent deal involving Star Bulk Carriers, another company associated with Pappas. The latest move signals Oceanbulk's renewed activity in the bulker segment, as well as a possible return to the container shipping market with reported feeder ship orders. Oceanbulk currently operates five bulk carriers and is gradually expanding its fleet.
