Greece's Latsco Shipping has confirmed the expansion of its container shipping fleet, exercising options for two additional 1,900 TEU vessels at China's Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding. The new ships are scheduled for delivery in June and August 2028. This move follows an earlier order for two vessels placed earlier this year, each reportedly costing around $31 million. Latsco, traditionally focused on tanker and gas carrier operations, first entered the containership segment in 2022. The company remains active in the product tanker market as well, recently contracting up to four 50,000 DWT MRs at K Shipbuilding in South Korea.
