Hengli Heavy Industry (Hengli HI) has announced a series of significant achievements in the shipbuilding sector. On October 27, the company signed a contract with Greek shipowner EFNAV for six 82,000-DWT bulk carriers. Shortly after, on October 30, Hengli revealed new orders including two Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs), three 4,600-TEU containerships, and two 2,700-TEU containerships, further expanding its orderbook. The VLCCs, valued between US $200–300 million, are set for delivery from late 2027 to mid-2028. The 4,600-TEU containerships, designed by CSSC 708 Research Institute and classed by Bureau Veritas, are worth RMB 1.5–1.8 billion and will be delivered in the first half of 2028. The new VLCCs and containerships highlight innovations in green propulsion and operational efficiency. Additionally, on October 28, Hengli delivered its first self-produced LPG dual-fuel marine engine, the 6G60ME-C10.5-LGIP-HPSCR, marking a major step forward for domestic green engine manufacturing. With orders extending through 2029, Hengli is set to ramp up production, positioning itself as a leader in China’s green shipbuilding and marine engine industries.
