Hudong-Zhonghua Holds Keel-Laying for Three LNG Carriers China State Shipbuilding Corporation subsidiary Hudong- Zhonghua Shipbuilding held simultaneous keel-laying ceremonies for three LNG carriers on October 14, 2025. The vessels are part of a series of LNG carriers with two ships destined for Malaysian owners Petronas and KA Energy, while the third is intended for China National Offshore Oil Corporation . Each ship, upon completion, will measure 299 meters in length, 46.4 meters in beam, and 26.25 meters in depth, offering a total cargo capacity of 174,000 cubic meters. A twin-skeg design will feature on each vessel, alongside systems aimed at enhancing hydrodynamics and cutting carbon emissions. They will be powered by dual-fuel diesel engines fitted with Intelligent Control by Exhaust Recycling (ICER) systems to minimize methane slip and greenhouse gas emissions. The ICER technology allows exhaust gas to be cooled and recirculated, enabling partial re-combustion of methane for further emissions reduction.
