Seaspan Orders Two New 11,800 TEU Containerships at Yangzijiang Shipbuilding

With these new contracts, Yangzijiang's 2025 orderbook now stands at 44 ships valued at $1.9 billion. Seaspan, which is owned by Atlas Corp and operates the world’s largest fleet of containerships, continues to invest heavily in new tonnage at Chinese yards. Earlier this year, the company ordered twelve 9,000 TEU vessels at Hudong-Zhonghua and Shanghai Waigaoqiao, with deliveries expected from 2028. The newly ordered ships at Yangzijiang are due for delivery between 2027 and 2029.
