On July 25, 2025, the BEIJING MAERSK was officially named and delivered at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan, South Korea. The 17,480 TEU container vessel, featuring a methanol dual-fuel engine, is the second in Maersk’s Equinox Mk-II series. Designed with an all-forward superstructure and port-side funnel, the ship maximizes container capacity and supports Maersk’s ongoing commitment to sustainable, decarbonized shipping. The BEIJING MAERSK is currently en route to Europe on its maiden voyage. Four additional sister vessels are expected to join the fleet by the end of 2025.
