Incat Tasmania has announced a significant contract win to design and construct two advanced battery-electric ferries for Danish ferry operator Molslinjen. The vessels, each measuring 129 metres and equipped with approximately 45,000 kWh of battery power, will have the capacity to transport up to 1,483 passengers and 500 cars across Denmark’s busy Kattegat route. This project is part of the largest electrification initiative at sea, marking a milestone for sustainable maritime innovation and showcasing Tasmania’s shipbuilding expertise on an international platform.
