Yesterday in Haimen, Jiangsu, China, the Grimaldi Group celebrated the naming ceremony of the Grande Shanghai, its first next-generation Pure Car & Truck Carrier (PCTC) built by China Merchants Heavy Industries. The vessel boasts a capacity of 9,000 Car Equivalent Units and marks the group's first ammonia-ready ship, highlighting a strong commitment to sustainable maritime transport. With fuel consumption per vehicle reduced by 50% compared to previous models, the Grande Shanghai stands as a significant step toward greener shipping. The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests including Ms. Tiziana D’Angelo, Consul General of Italy in Shanghai, Mr. Sichuan Wu, Chairman of China Merchants Industry, and Mr. Luigi Pacella Grimaldi, Automotive Intercontinental Director of the Grimaldi Group.
