Sanmar has signed a  contract with Ultratug Colombia to build a sister vessel of the Boğaçay Series tugboats. This new project follows the ongoing construction of the BOĞAÇAY LXXIX for Ultratug Mexico. The vessel will feature the RAmparts 2400SX-MKII design, exclusive to Sanmar, developed by Robert Allan Ltd. Measuring 24.4 meters in length, the tug will be well-equipped with CAT 3516E engines, promising a bollard pull of 75 tons. The tug will meet IMO Tier III emission standards, utilizing a Caterpillar SCR system to reduce NOx emissions, reinforcing its green credentials. Designed for efficiency, it will include accommodations for up to eight crew members. Rüçhan Çıvgın, the Commercial Director at Sanmar, expressed satisfaction with this new collaboration, while Silvia Herrera of Ultratug Colombia emphasized the company's commitment to a modern fleet. The vessel is scheduled for delivery by the third quarter of 2026.
