Cochin Shipyard Ltd, a state-run entity, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Drydocks World (a DP World company), the Middle East’s largest ship repair firm, to explore a joint venture aimed at enhancing ship repair and maintenance capabilities in Kochi and Vadinar.The proposed partnership seeks to adopt global best practices, expand operational capacity, and contribute to national maritime goals under the Maritime India Vision 2030 and AmritKaal Vision 2047.

In addition to ship repair, the collaboration will cover offshore fabrication, marine engineering, and other strategic infrastructure projects. This initiative marks a significant step in strengthening India’s maritime infrastructure, positioning Cochin Shipyard as a key player in regional and global marine services. The MoU sets the groundwork for long-term cooperation between the two companies, combining Drydocks World’s international expertise with Cochin Shipyard’s domestic capabilities to meet growing demands in the marine and offshore sectors.
