Fincantieri has secured a significant new contract with TUI AG for the design and construction of two new cruise ships for the Marella Cruises brand. This Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) marks an exciting milestone for Marella Cruises, as it represents their first foray into commissioning newly constructed ships directly.
The agreement, valued at over two billion euros, highlights Fincantieri's capability to expand its client base by establishing new relationships within the cruise industry. This partnership will enable Marella Cruises to strategically enter the newbuild segment, with a strong emphasis on environmental sustainability and premium cruising experiences.
Specifically designed for the English market, the new ships will feature environmentally-friendly technologies and offer premium cruising with high-quality materials and spacious accommodations. These ships are scheduled for delivery in 2030 and 2032, further cementing Marella Cruises’ commitment to enhancing their fleet with modern and sustainable options.

This strategic collaboration builds on Fincantieri's successful relationship with TUI Cruises, a joint venture between TUI AG and Royal Caribbean Cruises . Earlier this year, Fincantieri delivered “Mein Schiff Relax,” and is currently constructing “Mein Schiff Flow,” set for delivery in 2026, showcasing the company’s ongoing commitment to innovative and sustainable shipbuilding.
