Onomichi Dockyard and Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Co ., Ltd. have announced the development of the Bingo 42, a 42,200 DWT bulk carrier featuring innovative energy-saving technologies. The collaboration brought together the expertise of both companies to enhance hull designs and improve efficiency. By extending the hull by three meters, the Bingo 42 is designed to increase cargo capacity and enhance fuel efficiency, benefiting from the MT-FAST energy-saving system, which significantly improves propulsion performance. This new design marks a significant advancement in emissions reduction, boasting a more than 35% reduction compared to EEDI environmental regulations. Additionally, the vessel is capable of running on methanol as a dual fuel, positioning it as a leader in the push towards carbon neutrality within the maritime industry. As highlighted by company executives, the Bingo 42 combines enhanced fuel efficiency with larger loading capacity. Both Onomichi Dockyard and Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Co ., Ltd. aim to continue driving innovation in the industry to support sustainable maritime operations.
