Pantheon Tankers Management is making a notable return to the South Korean shipbuilding industry after a hiatus of five years. The Greek shipowner is preparing to invest approximately $176 million in new suezmax tanker builds. The move signals a significant step for the company as it looks to expand its fleet with high-capacity vessels. According to industry insiders, Pantheon Tankers has inked a letter of intent with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries for the construction of two 158,000-deadweight-ton scrubber-fitted crude carriers. This development marks a renewed collaboration between the Greek tanker outfit and South Korean shipbuilders, indicating a robust demand in the tanker market.
