U-Ming Marine Transport, a prominent shipowner in Taiwan, has strengthened its orderbook by adding new ultramax bulk carriers. The company made the decision to return to Oshima Shipbuilding JP flag for the procurement of two ultramax bulker vessels. The Taipei-based firm, which had last commissioned ships from the Japanese shipyard in 2019, confirmed that they have placed an order for two 64,000-dwt vessels. This move marks the continuation of U-Ming's strategic expansion in the bulker market. A representative from U-Ming disclosed that the delivery of these newbuildings is slated for 2028. However, the company has opted not to reveal the financial details of the transaction at this time.
