In a significant development for the maritime industry, **Fincantieri** has confirmed a substantial order from **Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. (NCLH)** for the construction of four new cruise ships. This contract, first hinted at in April 2024, marks a major milestone and underscores **Fincantieri**'s prominence in shipbuilding. The agreement is valued at more than €2 billion, subject to financing and other customary conditions. The new cruise ships will be the largest ever constructed for the **Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) brand**, boasting a gross tonnage of approximately 226,000 tons. These state-of-the-art vessels are set to be built at the **Fincantieri Monfalcone** shipyard, with the delivery of the first ship slated for 2030, followed by subsequent launches in 2032, 2034, and 2036. Each ship will have the capacity to accommodate over 8,300 people, including more than 5,100 berths for guests. Designed with advanced technology for increased comfort, these ships will incorporate sustainable features to minimize environmental impact. **Fincantieri** has a proven track record with NCL, having built the "Norwegian Prima" and "Norwegian Viva", and is close to delivering "Norwegian Aqua", the first unit in the Prima Plus class. There are also three other ships in various design and construction stages.
