Sanmar to Build Eco-Friendly Boğaçay Tugboat for Ultratug Mexico

Turkey. Designed exclusively for Sanmar by Canadian naval architects Robert Allan Ltd, the RAmparts 2400SX-MKII tugboat model boasts advanced environmental and operational features. The vessel will be powered by two IMO Tier III-compliant CAT 3516E main engines, generating a combined output of 4,400 kW at 1,600 rpm. These engines are complemented by a Caterpillar SCR exhaust gas after-treatment system, significantly reducing nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. The tug will deliver exceptional performance, including a stern bollard pull exceeding 75 tons and a free-running speed of 12.5 knots. Its 24.4-meter length, 12-meter beam, and navigational draft of 5.45 meters ensure superior stability and efficiency for ship-handling duties.
