During the trials, the USV was remotely controlled from a mobile remote operations center (ROC) on the support vessel Avant. In its operational phase, Massterly will manage the USV from a land-based ROC in Horten, Norway. This approach enhances safety, reduces operational costs, and lowers emissions compared to traditional crewed vessels. The vessel's design leverages proven technology to meet high safety and reliability standards, addressing the unique challenges of uncrewed operations. Kongsberg Maritime collaborated closely with regulatory bodies to ensure seamless integration into maritime operations, setting a precedent for future uncrewed vessels.
