Source: https://d1shccof2rzrfp.cloudfront.net In a groundbreaking move towards sustainable transportation, the San Francisco Bay Ferry Board of Directors has approved the purchase of the nation's first three battery-electric, zero-emission high-speed passenger ferries. The vessels, supplied by **All American Marine Inc.** (AAM) following a competitive bidding process, are pivotal in SF Bay Ferry’s Rapid Electric Emission Free (REEF) Ferry Program, designed to overhaul the fleet with zero-emission propulsion technology. The new 150-passenger ferries, costing $46 million, will operate at 24 knots and are expected to integrate into the SF Bay Ferry fleet by early 2027. Comprised of dual 625-kilowatt electric motors, the environmentally-friendly ferries measure 100 feet in length with a 26-foot beam and 5.9-foot draft.
