NANTONG CIMC SINOPACIFIC OFFSHORE & ENGINEERING CO LTD
Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering (CIMC SOE), a prominent Chinese shipbuilder, has signed a letter of intent with Fuzhou Wuyang Refined Oil Trading (Wuyang Tanker) to construct up to two advanced liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering vessels. The agreement involves an initial order for one 12,000 cubic meter vessel, with an option for a second.
The vessels will feature dual-purpose capabilities, equipped with two IMO Type C cargo tanks, each with a capacity of approximately 6,000 cubic meters. Designed for versatility, the ships will include a shallow draft and a bow thruster for enhanced maneuverability in narrow waterways.Key specifications include an ice class B rating, a DP2 dynamic positioning system, and a full-load speed of around 13 knots. Built for durability, the vessels have an anticipated service life of 30 years and will utilize an advanced electric propulsion system to support LNG transportation and refueling operations.
The ships will handle domestic and international LNG transport, refuel LNG-powered vessels in coastal and inland areas, and conduct specialized tasks such as pre-delivery inerting and gas testing. They will also facilitate LNG transshipment at Yangtze River transit and refueling stations, ensuring comprehensive operational capabilities.
