Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard Co. Ltd. announced the successful delivery of the ZIM ALBATROSS, the final vessel in a series of ten 5,300 TEU container ships, to Navios Maritime Partners L.P. on December 9. The delivery was formalized via a virtual signing ceremony, marking the conclusion of this ambitious shipbuilding project.

With an overall length of 237.8 meters, a beam of 38.8 meters, and a depth of 21.8 meters, the vessel is classified by DNV. The design features innovations that enhance fuel efficiency and environmental performance, achieving an Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) over 30% lower than the baseline.

Equipped with advanced systems such as ultra-low sulfur oil capability, AMP (Alternative Marine Power), SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction), and BWMS (Ballast Water Management System), the ship exemplifies sustainability. The ZIM ALBATROSS offers increased cargo capacity with 3,845 14T container slots, including 750 cold boxes supported by 1,000 reefer plugs. This capacity surpasses comparable ship types by up to 345 slots.The vessel is set for its maiden voyage on December 10, departing for Gai Mai Port in Vietnam, underscoring its readiness for operational deployment and reflecting the shipyard's commitment to innovation and efficiency.
